Autumnal Decorating

The weather has got colder this week, there is the distinct cold breeze in the air which has made me start to think about autumn. Shorter days, leavers failing.. and not forgetting the countdown to Christmas.. what more do you want to be thinking about when it is still August right?

This autumn home trends are possible some of my favourite for a while.. Ginger.. Geometric prints... Purple and finally Gold which reminds me distinctly of Christmas.

Ginger

Think checks, woodland creatures, woollen throws, rich earthy colours and textures, dark woods. This trend is rich and vibrant and would make any home during the colder months worm and inviting.

Geometric Prints

This trend is very modern, almost Swedish in design, think chevron prints grey, teal and yellow is the main elements to this. This trend is vibrant and lively and would looks great in any room. Think different shades of greys with clashing colour pops of teals and yellows. This trend is bright and not for the faint hearted.

Purple

Purple has taken on two different looks this season, the first one has a vintage twist with lilac and grey, think crackled glass, floral and feminine. The second is richer, warmer and is more wintery, the trend is modern and elegant. There is also a twist with fake fruit!

Gold

Finally is gold, this trend is defiantly a nod to Christmas which is right around the corner. This trend is rich, delicate and glamorous. The trend is made up of gold and truffle tones. Think glass, glimmer and luxurious candles. This trend would take you right through to spring and could easily be transformed for winter with the addition of light greens to give it a fresh twist.
